Did you ever imagine growing warts on your feet? It’s something you probably don’t want to think about. Yet, we need to talk about what you can do about them. Known as plantar warts, they develop on the bottom of your feet and have the chance of becoming painful.
Plantar warts start out small and then become much larger. An important fact of warts is that they are caused by viral infections that can effortlessly spread. Viruses can enter the skin through wound openings and lead to significant pain. Because warts are on the bottom of the feet, they are exposed to high amounts of pressure that cause them to become sensitive. Additionally, they could produce a burning feeling, tenderness and secondary infections that cause worse complications. Plantar warts may not be a problem for you at the moment, but it’s always best to get them checked out before they cause you lingering pain.
Treatment by your foot doctor for this condition includes:
- Freezing warts and then scraping them off. This may sound excessive, but it may be worth it for severe cases.
- You may also have them chemically burned off through a medical procedure.
- Plantar warts can also be surgically removed to eliminate them when other methods can’t seem to do the trick. If it comes down to surgery, you may need to combine it with anti-viral medications to help make sure they do not develop again after being removed.
